Leírás:

ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) at the CERN LHC is dedicated to probe the strongly interacting matter at extreme energy densities. Since heavy-flavor quarks (charm & beauty) are produced early and they survive throughout the later stages of the reaction, they provide a unique opportunity to study the properties of the quark-gluon plasma. Detecting modifications in the jet substructure is sensitive to changes in the parton shower and fragmentation. The recently commenced LHC Run 3 data taking phase with increased luminosity and upgraded detectors brought the opportunity to measure the production and properties of heavy-flavor with an unprecedented precision.
The PhD candidate is expected to contribute to the field with original research in investigating heavy-flavor jet substructures both with phenomenological methods and in data. The candidate is also expected to contribute to the detector operation duties for the ALICE Run 3 period and detector developments for the future ALICE3 experiment.
