Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme

Students from certain countries may apply for tuition-free education, a monthly stipend, a contribution to accommodation costs, and medical insurance via the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme.

A very important condition for application is that the applicant must have a letter of support from the prospective supervisor, so this Statement of the Supervisor must be attached to the application!

Below you can find the list of potential supervisors and their research topics. You are encouraged to contact the supervisor whose research field aligns with your interests.

Research topics offered for the academic year 2025/2026

While living expenses in Hungary are lower than the EU average, the monthly stipend in itself is not enough for a decent standard of living, and one may need further support from other sources. The applicant may also contact the prospective supervisor before application whether the supervisor can provide additional support from research grants.
 

The selection procedure takes place in April-May and involves a Skype interview with the admission committee.
