PhD type:
Fizikai Tudományok Doktori Iskola
Year:
2025/2026/2
Unit:
Wigner Research Centre for Physics (WIGNER FK)
Address of unit:
1121 Budapest, Konkoly-Thege Miklós út 29-33.
Description:
The aim of the candidate will be to develop and characterize a high-efficiency interface between atoms and photons, enabling strong coupling and coherent conversion between microwave and optical domains.
The system will utilize cold atoms loaded from a movable magnetic quadrupole trap into a single-mode, high-finesse optical resonator.
The project will also incorporate data acquisition via single-photon counting techniques, enabling precise characterization of states and conversion efficiency. Statistical physics methods will be applied to analyze photon count distributions amd system dynamics under varying coupling regimes.
Requirements:
MSc in Physics, use of English, sound background in Quantum Physics
State:
Approved
Stipendicum Hungaricum:
Yes
